In the Ministry of Communication and Informatics RI, Public Information Service of PPID is a form of implementation of Law Number 14 Year 2008 on Public Information Disclosure, in which everyone is entitled to obtain public information produced by the Ministry of Communication and Informatics RI and they shall be obliged to provide and serve public information requests which are under its authority to the public. This research aims to identify the management of public information services conducted by Pejabat Pengelola Informasi dan Dokumentasi (PPID) of the Ministry of Communications and Informatics. The approach of this research is qualitative with descriptive research method. Data collection of interviews with 4 informants namely Head of Online Media Subdivision and three staff of Information Services PPID Ministry of Communications and Informatics within PPID and Functional Officers Kemkominfo. The results of this research included finding (1) the types of information services provided by the PPID Ministry of Communications and Informatics such as information services related to Kominfo profiles, and programs. (2) The Information Management Aspect consisted of (a) the Flow of Public Information Services Management by PPID of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics, i.e. inventory/collection, information classification, documentation and services; (b) Provision of Public Information and Public Information Collection System in PPID of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics had been described in the official website of Kominfo http://ppid.kominfo.go.id.; (c) Information Classification System in the PPID of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics, namely the PPID divided the public information into 2 (two) categories, namely Information that Must be Supplied/Announced with and Information Excluded. (3) Aspect of Information Submission consisted of (a) Media Submission used by PPID Ministry of Communications in order to manage Public Information service i.e. website or email and (b) Constraints that occurred in the management of public information services in PPID Ministry of Communications and Informatics starting from the entry information, selection and processing of information up to the distribution of public information available. Obstacles from outside the organization were the difficulty of clearly identifying the applicant’s identity.
